Cold, winter weather and too much time between trims can leave your hair feeling like straw. Don’t have time for a hairdresser appointment? Here’s a trick to fix your dead ends at home.
If you have a flat iron, cover the plates with aluminum foil and set it to 250 degrees. Apply a deep conditioning treatment to your damp hair, and then run the iron over it from the middle to the ends. Yes, this is the one and only time we’re allowing you to use a flat iron when hair is wet - just don’t miss out on that step with the aluminum foil!
Why does this trick work so well? The heat allows conditioner to penetrate hair completely, so you’ll look like you just stepped out of the salon once it dries.
Here are some of our favorite deep conditioning treatments that will help you achieve silky soft strands:
Kendall Jenner just keeps getting prettier and prettier with age! The young model turned fashion designer posted this chic selfie to her Instagram page yesterday looking absolutely flawless if we don’t say so ourselves. From her fluffy sweater to her long lashes, light pink pout and perfect curls, she’s definitely a knockout, don’t you think?
Those Kardashians really like to mix it up in the hair department! Youngest sis Kylie Jenner decided to document her most recent hair transformation on Instagram for all her followers. First, it looks like she dyed the bottom layer of her jet black locks blonde, then she colored them a bright blue. We’re kind of digging this edgy color on her, what about you?
Can you imagine walking the runway without even a little bit of shine serum or some hair spray? That’s exactly what models did this week at Stella McCartney’s Spring 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week. Hair stylist Eugene Souleiman created loose side part pointy tails secured at the nape of the neck, using only a brush and a blow dryer to create a bit of volume. The casual, tomboy-chic hair went perfectly with Stella McCartney’s light, airy and floral-filled collection.
So what do you think - would you try this product-free hair style? See all the looks fro Stella McCartney at Style.com.
Ke$ha is really “feeling the rainbow” according to Instagram! The eccentric pop star showed off her bright and brand new ‘do via social media this week. We’re not exactly sure what prompted her to dye her hair the color of the rainbow, but if anyone can pull it off, Ke$ha can. Oddly enough, we kind of like it too. What do you think? Are you feeling her new look or not at all?
Could Lindsay Lohan finally have her act together? If this Instagram pic is any indication, we’d have to say yes! Not only does the actress actually look healthy here, but her hair and makeup are both right on point. And we’re even digging her hippie chic vibe. Overall, gorgeous Lindsay…keep up the good work!
Pretty girls can get away with rocking pretty much anything. But just like super short hair, a mullet isn’t exactly the easiest thing to pull off. Disney star Zendaya posted a pic on Instagram sporting a seriously slicked back ‘do with bright pink lips just last week. As gorgeous as she is however, we don’t think this hairstyle even looks good on her.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Zendaya’s hair or not so much?
OMG, how amazing is Lauren Conrad’s teeny tiny sombrero!? The reality star turned fashion designer posted this pretty pic to her Instagram account yesterday. We have no idea why she’s accessorizing her bun with an itty bitty hat, but we definitely don’t hate it. LOL. What do you think of Lauren’s look???
No doubt about it, singer/actress Selena Gomez has some of the best hair in Hollywood! This week, she chose a super simple but very sophisticated curly ponytail for the LA premiere of her new film Getaway. While it’s not a groundbreaking ‘do by any means, it still looks great and is flattering on her, don’t you think?
There’s only so many hairstyles you can rock on the red carpet when your hair is as short as Miley Cyrus’. However, the pop singer still manages to surprise us with her choices. For the MTV VMAs last night, she sported two punky pigtail top knots, with a little bit of hair left down in the back. This ‘do may work for street style, but we’re not sure if it is the best choice for an awards show. What do you think? Do you love it or hate it?
Kate Hudson just keeps looking better and better with age! The blonde bombshell actress strutted her stuff on the red carpet for the premiere of her new HBO movie Clear History on Wednesday. We’re so in love with her wavy, middle-length hair. It frames her face beautifully. And whoever gave her that haircut is seriously a genius!
Boho babe Vanessa Hudgens is definitely known for her long, wavy hair. Yesterday, however, the stylish star took to Instagram to show off a brand new look: shorter locks just in time for the Fourth of July!
“From super long to not so long. Lol time for a change thanks to @ninezeroone @nikkilee901 @riawnacapri. Thanks ladies. Oh and @luvaj for my rad jewels,” she commented beneath the photo.
Khloe Kardashian’s always had great hair, so it’s no surprise that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star would want to showcase her latest hairstyles on Instagram! In celebration of her birthday last week, Khloe threw a glam pj party and rocked a gorgeous high ponytail with waves and what looks to be a little hair bling. A couple of days before that, she posted a pic of a stunning fishtail braided pony that also sat very high up on her head.
We can’t wait to see what fun looks Khloe has in store for us next!
Leighton Meester shocked us all when she chopped off her long locks back in October, and now the former Gossip Girl star and girlfriend to Adam Brody is wowing us once again! She showed up to the LA premiere of her new man’s film Some Girls on Wednesday looking like a natural beauty in a pretty blue dress with a pink purse to match. It seems like she’s been growing out her bob, but personally, we’re loving this length, lighter color and those boho beachy waves on her, especially for summer.
Wow! Jennifer Lawrence debuted a brand new, noticeably shorter ‘do at Saturday night’s GLAAD Media Awards, and apparently, the asymmetrical bob was a total last minute decision.
Her hairstylist Marc Townsend told Harper’s Bazaar: “Yesterday, Jennifer showed up an hour before call time, and as she opened the door she was like, ‘Marc I want to cut it all off.” And so he did, even cutting his own finger in the process!
While we definitely like the new ‘do (let’s be real the actress looks great no matter what), we kind of prefer Jennifer with longer hair. What do you think?
Hands down, Jessica Chastain took home the award for the best hair and makeup at this year’s Academy Awards (at least in our book anyway)! Not only do we heart her old Hollywood waves, but the strawberry blonde color of her hair contrasted perfectly against her stunning blush Armani Prive gown, that red pout and pale skin. She looked beyond gorgeous, wouldn’t you agree?
Holy cow! We can’t even believe we’re saying this, but our girl Ke$ha completely blew us away with her stunning hair and makeup on night two of KIIS FM’s 2012 Jingle Ball. Those tousled curls and sultry eyes transformed the singer into the smoking hot bombshell we always knew she had waiting to come out.
Keep up the good work Ke$h, we definitely want to see more of this side of you!
Ke$ha is no stranger to unusual ‘dos, but we’re not sure if we’re feeling the two random side cornrows she rocked for her performance on NBC’s “The Today Show” yesterday, are you? Tell us in the comments below!
Keira Knightley hit the red carpet for the LA premiere of her new film Anna Karenina on Wednesday. While her custom Erdem silk dress was indeed stunning, we couldn’t take our eyes off that elegant twisted updo. It’s so sophisticated, but fun at the same time! Wouldn’t you agree?
