Hot, humid days are finally upon us. And as excited as we are to park ourselves poolside on the weekends, we could do without some of the negative effects of the heat. Mainly, melting makeup, sweat, and puffy hair. Here are three simple tips that will keep you looking cool and collected even on summer’s hottest days!
The retro-inspired waves spotted on models at Christian Dior’s spring 2011 runway show are super-chic and perfect for prom. The style is glam enough for your big night and a great alternative to your typical updo. To get the look yourself, start with blow dried hair and apply a glossing product. Use a curling iron to twist small sections of hair into curls, and pin them with bobby pins. Let the style sit for about 15 minutes before removing the bobby pins and gently brushing curls out.
Olive oil is an amazing moisturizer for dried out hair during the winter. It’s affordable, you probably already have it in your kitchen, and it’s easy to use! With wet hair, heat up 1 tablespoon of oil and massage it into your scalp and ends. Wrap your hair in a plastic bag, secure it, and let it soak in for about 30 minutes. When you are done, rinse your hair and shampoo and condition as you normally would. Your hair will look and feel healthier - no fancy moisturizing treatments needed!
