rocks. Yes, I made fun of her twee, weirdo shopping trip
the other day, but maybe she was just getting her domestic feminist on. Many young women in Hollywood
shy away from the F word. The industry seems to be keen on perpetuating the stereotype of a feminist as a butch, man-ish, angry lady.
But here’s Zooey D to save the day! Instead of grappling with whether or not to call herself a feminist, Zooey takes on the task of defending a woman’s right to be pretty and girlie and feminine and feminist.
“I’m just being myself,” she told Glamour. “There is not an ounce of me that believes any of that crap that they say. We can’t be feminine and be feminists and be successful? I want to be a f***ing feminist and wear a f***ing Peter Pan collar. So f***ing what?”
Well, she obviously feels very strongly.
