I’ve always said haircolor is my antidepressant, and it seems model Charlotte Free agrees. It turns out she first dyed her iconic hair after a breakup, to “shed my skin,” she told The Cut’s Inside the Model’s Studio. She knew the style didn’t make her as marketable as a less bold look, especially at castings for her now infamous Maybelline contract. “I come in with my sh***y clothes and my f***ed up hair … and I got it,” she said. “They cast the outcast.”
