While most people were out celebrating Valentine's Day, the fashion world spent the weekend putting on and attending runway shows. Here is a recap of our favorite collections from the weekend:
1. Lela Rose - Lela Rose's pretty cocktail dresses and chic separates were incredibly wearable. Her inspiration was the lunar-like landscapes of the Galapagos Islands, she told Style.com, and in her collection she explored different textures. Favorite looks were definitely a chunky, grey striped sweater and these two adorable one-shouldered frocks.
ADAM - Designer Adam Lippes took the label in an entirely new direction this year. Instead of the basic, semi-casual looks of seasons past, he sent edgier, more fashion-forward pieces down the runway, like a shorts suit and a pleated, ruffled skirt. This was definitely a reputation-changing collection for the brand, and for the better.
Alice + Olivia - If you need a fun party dress next fall, look no further than designer Stacey Bendet's latest collection for Alice + Olivia. The fall presentation featured an array of mini dresses perfect for New Years Eve, semi-formals, and other worthy events. Here are our favorites:
Boy by Band of Outsiders - Designer Scott Sternberg's collection will definitely appeal to the hipsters of the world, but unlike the demographic it's not eye roll-inducing. Instead it's youthful, quirky, and cool. For example, a pair of sandals were made from watch straps sand a skirt from neckties!
