Speaking of The Hills, how did Heidi Montag become more fashionable than Lauren?

Maybe it's because she stole everybody's shoes.

Like Sarah Jessica Parker and Ashely Olsen's Balenciaga sandals.

And Kate Bosworth's Chloe sandals.

Actually, Heidi even wore that look twice.

One look we wouldn't have minded seeing twice was worn by Selena Gomez.

Selena definitely stood out this year as the new young face of fashion. We wouldn't be surprised if she follows in Emma Watson's footsteps and becomes the darling of a European fashion house, attends numerous shows during fashion week and lands some spreads in high-end magazines like Italian Vogue.'

Ellen Page was a breakout star in 2008 for her performance in Juno and she wore black to so many premieres and award shows we were thrilled to see her wear a blue Bottega Veneta sheath.

Kristen Stewart came out of nowhere as the one to watch due to her part in the huge hit, Twilight. She wore Temperley and many other top designers to all the premieres around the globe. Here she is in Balenciaga.

She definitely has more of a rock and roll vibe going and often wore her hair messy with her designer dresses.

Another star with a rock and roll look was Agyness Deyn, who should have no problem finding designer dresses to wear since she's the #1 model in the world and walks the most shows during fashion week.

The highly-anticipated Sex and the City movie came out in 2008 and with it a ton of trends from Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw wardrobe, the first being bright and bold floral patterns. Leighton Meester was soon spotted wearing a similar look on the set of Gossip Girl (another smash hit from this year).

And notice the brown Balenciaga sandals Carrie is wearing on the right of the first pic...the black ones were so popular, Sophia Bush and Nicole Richie were soon spotted rocking them.
